DIPP is hurting Indian retailer
The rule of no one company can sell 25% or more on ecommerce marketplaces is an eyewash. Marketplaces have basically created front companies and are pushing volumes through these companies. Flipkart has the same and if walmart deals were to be approved there should be a condition that says 90+% products sold via walmart-flipkart will have to be made in India.
Otherwise this is walmarts backdoor entry into india retail and the end of our small trader retailer businesses. more

Walmart sells more than 80% by value / volume of CHINESE make even in USA. Something must be done about it by ourselves - Modi seems sold to Chinese. Starter - atleast I'll not buy anything from WALMART. Elsewhere also, I first check & ensure that I am not buying made in China. more

The small trader is another community responsible for.tje highest cheating in the country so far. They flout every rule, cheat the cuatomer, collect taxes but pay nothing, service levels are the poorest. The best part is that these businessmen in a majority are owners of cars and properties but on paper have always run loss making businesses without paying a penny in tax. What do they cry for now when the contribution towards the country and the society has been nil. What are they protecting - perennial loss making businesses, an assurance to give them a licence to keep cheating ? These guys should find a job pay their taxes at source and be better off than what they are - at least as far as their income tax returns suggest more

Why are you so worried .. & really about what ? Walmart & Amazon, etc. etc. have been there in USA & all the West for Decades now .. Still there are numerous small Retailers, Kiryana Stores, etc. all over USA & the West, they are everywhere .. When you travel there, you go to these small shops for all your daily needs .. maximum is that you could go to a Mall .. Even now there are all small & big Retailers & Shops in India who are selling China made goods or Philippine,Malaysia,or Singapore etc. for the last so many years .... You buy Kohinoor Rice or Aashirwaad Atta if you can afford it while most others are happy with unbranded or Ration Shop Variety .. It's all a matter of Affordability .. All the Indian Lalas are selling everything at a 50-200% Margin (Big Distributors, Local Big Dealers & the Big or Small Retailers each taking huge Profits) !! Have you ever got much lower than the already hyped-up MRP from your Local Shops ? Have you ever seen a Lala or the Big Distributors, Local Big Dealers & the Big or Small Retailers not living in Bungalows/large Flats with lots of Cars & Money, anywhere in India ???? Competition like E-tailers & Malls have only made most things more affordable already .... So Relax as Competition only helps the Public at large with better Deals, Better quality, more Choices & much much better Prices !!!! more
