Dirty water being supplied

I have read all the comments and agree that the water supplied to houses is very bad quality. I have an underground water tank where the water supply goes direct to it and with another mother I lift it up to our overhead tank. Generally I got cleaned the tank every less than a year or so. I had got it cleaned only two months ago. It have white tiles on walls which are darkest brown within two months and have collected heavy rusty dirt water at the bottom. I do not know when we will get clean water. Some years ago, I had the problem of low water pressure and complained to water department. After checking, they got my water line connection with the main line cleaned but the problem did not improved. Then they said that there is some blockage in the main pipeline. They cut the mainline and find that more than half of the pipeline is chocked and also they find a polythene bag stuck in the pipeline. Then they cut and removed that part and rejoined it. My point to say all this is that I am fully agree with you that water supply is very poor quality. Putting 20% Ganga Water in dirty drainage water will not make it clean. more

The upkeep of civic amenities water supply electricity roads has been steadily declining over the last couple of years ; roads in sector 50 have not been carpeted for some time now ; water in sector 50 is unclean the sewerage is clogged emits foul stench as one steps out of the house.Pathetic. more

I think firstly if we have a problem of dirty water in taps, we should try to find out what is our water supply circuit. The water treatment plant is same for all in Noida. Turbid water may be seen in certain areas if any water pipeline work has been carried out. In such cases, the problem would be temporary and water would get clear in a short while. Of course, Ms Karuna Dhingra has not provided any details to analyse the issue. Is the water supply from the tanks of a society? or is it direct supply from Jal Board? The best thing would be to approach the local Jal-Board office and intimate them of the problem. I do not mean to say that this would solve the problem, but that could be the first step at least. more
