Discount on Vacant Berths

Some passengers plan their journey at last moment and have the option to travel through different modes of transport. Therefore, to promote such passengers to avail train services in which berths are vacant after the preparation of first chart, w.e.f. 01.01.2017, 10% rebate in basic fare on vacant berths/seats after preparation of first chart is given in the reserved class of all trains.

W.e.f. 20.12.2016, 10% rebate in basic fare on vacant berths/seats after preparation of first chart is given in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains on an experimental basis for six months. No assessment has been made till date.

Apart from above, w.e.f. 20.12.2016 discounted fare has been offered for the passengers of Jaipur-Ajmer and Ajmer-Jaipur in 12015/12016 New Delhi-Ajmer Shatabdi Express and for the passengers of Bengaluru City-Mysuru and Mysuru- Bengaluru City in 12007/12008 Chennai Central-Mysuru Shatabdi Express. more

Ha ha ha! What a joke! Now a days public is not able to book a tatkal ticket. more
The idea is good, but how it can be implemented. The person who has to go in emergency, will not even think of Train, for the reason that it would not get the Seat. Best thing is publish this news of vacant site as a flasher on IRCTC WEBSITE. more
Good move, But escalation in the dynamic fare should be 5% or less as railway is not a degraded private airline as these leeches suck travellers at their will. railway should maintain its Goodwill it have with Genereal Public as common man's transporter. more
For some trains 'Dynamic Fare' is the norm. That is with every 10% filling, fare goes up by 10%. If any of such trains is left with unfilled births, such passengers will get ticket(s) at discounted price. Is it fare? Agreed, that quite a few private airlines have adopted the same practice. Once I found that an individual had purchased a ticket from the ticket-counter at the airport at about 10% lower price than paid by me, ticket purchased only 2-days before. more
In regard to varying fare being charged in Shatabti exp I strongly feel that this is totally unfair. People who are in dire need, select Shatabti despite being costly. U should not burden them with more fare. Rly should not behave like private omnibus operators n exploit public On Feb 17, 2017 12:21 PM, "Ministry Of Railways" < support@localcirclesmail.com> wrote: > more
