Discussion on Tatkal, quota, tout, agent
We all are missing one crucial point. Why there is so much hulla bol on tatkal, tout , agent, quota, etc ?
Simply, it's a case of demand and supply. While the demand is on the rise, supply has failed to catch up with the increasing demand.
The Railway authorities must focus on increasing the seat availability per train by adding additional coach.
Tout , agent will disappear if there is sufficient seat available all the time.
I would like to end this post with this "Make hay while the sun shines". more

To increase seat availability, they should introduce more trains for which they require all railwaylines 4 lined instead of 2 lined for which they can propose PPP participation for quadrupling lines and making more coaches and engines. Then only it is possible for seat availability as it is seen no seats in many trains and people travel by standing.Railways should think to solve this problem on priority as people prefer to travel in trains rather than by road which is costly as well as inconvenience... more

The Railway department must carry out a feasibility study on the following points: 1. Maximum nos. of additional coaches that can be attached to an engine. 2. Undertake a detailed study on the load bearing capacity of the bridges (old & new) 3. Impact on speed of the engine and wear & tear due to additional coaches. 4. Cost Vs.Earning ratio due to additional coaches Based on this study, the Railways can ensure that all bookings will be confirmed and there will be no waiting list.
