Durga prasad ji, in case of Vit D deficiency, doctors normally prescribe synthetic capsules - dosage and frequency depending upon extent of deficiency. One should not take this vitamin by himself and should be taken only if prescribed by a doctor after the blood test. more
Vit D capsules are available in medical shops. Can anyone suggest the efficacy of these synthetic Vit D capsules and if they are good to consume, what should be the dosage for Sr. Citizens? Is it essential to consume these vit capsules along with Calcium tablets? What Sandoz sells as Calcium tablets is available at Generic Medical shops at a fraction of the price of Sandoz. I was just now going through the Sandoz Calcium site on the net and found that consuming Calcium is also not very safe or comfortable. Listed below are the possible side effects of Calcium consumption for which again the patient has to visit the Doctor!! "Possible Side Effects of CALCIUM -SANDOZ Abdominal pain Anorexia Bloating Confusion Constipation Delirium Dry mouth Excess gas Hypercalcaemia Nausea Polyuria Thirst Vomiting" more
