In the 21st century ,instead of making simple systems to collect revenue, the Govt, or god knows who , is making life difficult for the people. OR It is certain that the Govt has no ideas suitable for India. They simply adopt systems from other countries. They forget that India has the highest population density in this world. The systems from other developed countries is suitable for them , because they have much much less population , totally educated , best digitalisation , good infra etc etc. Our Govt , without original Ideas , goes to adopt these systems and the people become Guniea pigs of these trials. To top it , the people who make rules have never run a small business or faced any hardships because of these unfit rules for our country. Can cite a similar example, we adopted the toll system as in developed countries, we forgot that they have much smaller population and the toll booths can handle the vehicles that come in. They forgot about the word density of vehicles. The rule makers value their time as they have VIP lanes, and left the people to waste their time. The time wasted by the India public at the tolls and the fuel burnt ( paid for in precious foreign exchange) is million times that the money collected. The fast tag has become a joke, there are huge lines to enter the fast tag lane. Are these rule makers listening? They are least bothered about the difficulties of the people. The excuse the Govt gives is that they are collecting to maintain the roads. We do not have any original Ideas , even if someone comes up with one the Govt guys will shut him up as they are scared to try, or simply do not have the brains to do it. Instead of making simple revenue collections systems, we are adopting systems that is killing the entrepreneur, creating hurdles at every stage. The entrepreneur is doing less of his core business and racking his brains and mental peace to satisfy the Govt guys supplying information in this format and that format. Policing is name of the game and the Govt thinks that it can root out corruption, a pipe dream. we have to think out of the box to save our country, do not expect that from the current lot. Such a so called(by the politicians and the admin) major reform GST is having to be tweaked already. So much for a system said to have been thought for over ten years. The govt requires Tax , this could be collected by way of transaction tax. All currency notes above Rs.20/- to go out, all transactions only by way of plastic cards , internet banking , or any other form of digital system only, hundreds are available today. For every transaction , a tax will be debited automatically by the system at the time of the transaction itself ( like TDS).The govt gets its revenue. The govt does not spend on monitoring business and tax collection expenses , AND out goes all discretion of the person on the spot, complicated rules/laws , no intrusion , no chance of corruption, millions of court cases will not appear, only benefits for every one. The recording and submission of accounts/income for individuals/groups/firms and organisations to be submitted to the Govt , for the purpose of ensuring there are no illegalities with reference to the laws of the land. Everything records/financial statement remains as it is, except there is no hard cash to corrupt. This goes well with the slogan from PM, LESS GOVERNMENT . ALL administrative and accounting persons need not worry about loosing jobs. OR still better, the persons employed in the collection and accounting could be free to come to business , more entrepreneurs and the country will be number one in the world. Presently , the entrepreneur is doing less business and more of complying with the wonderful laws created by persons never affected by the laws.
