Why do we pay someone to create noise ? It's out of my understanding. I have attended weddings and functions in india (most part) and in western countries as well. But I have never seen loud music other than our respected nation. Do we even know the limit to which a human ear can tolerate the level of noise? And we push our little ones to the dance floors in front of mammoth speakers. I raised my concerns for early morning loud speakers noise from a new mandir which was constructed in centre of a private land ( this is common practice for land grabbing) few years back . Police was reluctant to take a complaint because it's a religious matter. With all due respect, my concern was noise pollution at 4 am and not any religious factor. Somehow after raising it with CMO and other bodies with supreme court order of permissible noise level in residential areas, the priest of temple reduced the volume. I am happy for the fact that government is thinking to reduce pollution from every way and every possible manner. Total ban would not be a good idea, rather define the permissible levels and strict adherence should be followed. Happy Thoughts Sumit more

All excessive noise raising activity should get banned. Whether it is in open ground or terrace tops. Even at marriages the playing of loud music should be banned. Even a "Baraat" being led by a band should be stopped. No horns other than light beepers should be installed in cars and two wheelers. Today even a motorcycle is having a horn louder than that of trucks. more

People should learn to respect rules to protect public from noise pollution. Now next on target should BE VEHICLE HORNS. MOST OF THE TWO WHEELERS HAVE fitted horns of buses. more
