Adulteration of edibles in our country has become a common practice and being done without fear and bothering for its ill affect on the health of common people. The concerned government machinery are also lethargic and corrupt in carrying their job and book those found engaged in such crime for justice. Our related laws to punish an adulterator are quite soft and process for justice is inordinately long making the entire process a mockery. However, only government action alone may not change the condition much unless conscience of the people engaged in the crime is awaken and the consumers are alert & not prepared to compromise with the quality for low prices. Meanwhile the existing laws against the crime of adulteration need to be replaced with new one having provisions for stringent punishment for those found engaged in adulteration. more

It is risky to buy honey of branded companies. There should be randum quality check at retail shops in presence of customers. If found adultrated seal the shop and brand. looks like nothing is pure in our country and our fssai is sleeping and only one needs to see when this kumbakarna wakes up .At least kumbakarna used to wake up once in six months but for our fssai it may not apply may be once in two or three years. more

First of all we should commercial production is done by bee keepers. Low quality jaggery is kept in the bee farms. The bees carry this sweetener to their web. As such this honey is not pure. Wild honey is pure because bees collect it from flowers but it's price is more than Rs.1000.00 p kg and supply is limited whereas branded honey is available at around Rs.400.00 p kg. more
