Do not respond to callers with information about your ID, ATM or Insurance Policies
There have been increase in the complaints pertaining to the calls being received by the consumers seeking details of your ID, ATM Cards, PIN, Insurance policies on the pretext of that the ATM card is being blocked or insurance policies getting lapsed or there is a bonus accruing to your policies. In case you share the details as being sought by the callers, your money in the accounts get out of your hand mostly on account of online shopping. Even though police does not do its obligation of nabbing the fraudesters due to obvious reasons, we as our responsibilities complete our obligations of informing to the police. Technology exists to nab the culprits, but police does not come into action. Still it takes a minute to write an email to the State Commissioner of Police. Another step that can be taken to prevent such crimes is to spread the message across the board to take care before responding to the calls. It is a fact that no bank or insurance companies, RBI or IRDA is allowed to ask such details from the consumers and hence such calls can be discarded straight a way. more
