Doctor incentive at delhi hospitals

When Kejriwal came into power his health minister announced that they will ensure doctor incentive and compensation are not aligned to how much revenue they bring to hospital.

What happened?

Did the implementation fail or Jain sahab did a compromise with private hospital? more

Satayender Jain is thinking of appointing his architect daughter as adviser to look into problems related to his health ministry. She was adviser for App roadside clinics also. more
May be she can fill in cracks. more
What happens to every stupid annunciation and to those who believe in such annunciations, has happened to this one also. more
Is this not for the Center to lay down a law all over the country? It is difficult to mandate anything on doctors, needs a concerted effort by a higher power (not that I support AAP or whatever). more
The sooner Delhi citizens forget about AAP the better it will be. Why keep being sorry all the time? more
I am not sure if that is even a right question, or a right expectation. Leave aside the medical profession, everywhere - people will either be paid a salary, a retainership amount, or commissions/ incentives. The commissions/ incentives have to be based on 'outcome', and the outcome in this case has to be what the hospital earns. I don't think there is a problem with this model. The problem perhaps is - how rationale are the hospital charges, how ethical are the practices, and even the percentage share these hospitals give to their doctors are tilted heavily in favour of the hospitals. It's common knowledge for example that the cost of investigations could be lower than what it is. more
