Doctors Reference for MRI
If someone goes for an MRI and the center asks for a Doctors reference, does that mean the Doc is getting commission on that MRI, pls share. more

If CT Scan has been done double check for MRI with the same doctor or with other doctor. Ask the doctor to write the name of MRI Centre as well as as the discount on prescription. more

Most of referring doctor gets commission of 20-25% some time as high as 35-40% of the amount paid by patient to laboratory or diagnostic center. It is bad practice and due to this some time unwanted and very expensive test are recommended to patients. In such case patient can find some lab or Diagnostic center offer big discount on these test if you search online, but check the credibility of the center or check with your doctor who can recommend some good lab with discounts. more

THERE ARE SET COURIER SERVICES WHICH CARRY THE COMMISSION PACKETS FROM EXPERTS AND LABS TO DOCTORS. SO PLEASE BE ALERT AND IF POSSIBLE TAKE A SECOND OPTION FROM A DOCTOR IN A PUBLIC HOSPITAL. SOME DOCTORS ARE KNOWN FOR PRESCRIBING SINK TESTS. IN SUCH CASES THE COLLECTED BLOOD AND OTHER SAMPLES ARE THROWN IN SINK AND A NEGATIVE RESULT IS GIVEN. THE LABS GIVE BETTER COMMISSION IN SUCH CASES. SOME TIME BACK THERE WAS A SERIES TO INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING WHERE THE NEWS REPORTER CLAIMING TO BE A AGENT OF HOSPITAL APPROACHED THE TEST LABS AND NEGOTIATED FOR COMMISSION. ALMOST ALL LABS AGREED TO GIVE HEFTY COMMISSIONS ON THE HIDDEN CAMERA. IT IS HIGH TIME THAT THE GOVERNMENT COMES OUT WITH THE PRESCRIBED RATE LIST FOR THE TESTS. CGHS APPROVED RATES ARE ALSO HALF OF THE CHARGES FOR THE MOST MEDICAL TESTING LABS FOR GENERAL PUBLIC. more
