Does Delhi have alternative to Even/Odd system

Pollution surely is a huge issue being faced across the cities especially metros and more so in Delhi.

By forcing odd /even numbers cars are we addressing the real issue?

If you travel from Kutub minar Delhi to Hero honda chowk it takes 40 to 80 mins. This extra time is due to the huge congestion across the routes mainly caused due to poor parking by everybody and anybody.

This menace of poor parking exists in every colony, around market and commercial complexes in delhi. This mostly leads to congestion and forces commuters to wait with their cars ON burning the fuel, causing noise pollution and unnecessary altercations on the road

If we address this issue alone then it can reduce a actual usage of every car and in turn pollution. This would also save huge money for each user and more importantly will save huge Forex for the country.

We need to bring strict discipline on the road, create no parking areas along the road side and follow them strictly with hefty fines.

Odd/Even number system is only going to increase harassment to the people, will be a huge load on the people to buy cars.

Today buying a car has huge aspiration value for the middle class and upper middle class.

With 1 car being used by the family this rule will make the life of this whole class miserable. How will they travel on the alternate days ?

Delhi's public transport is extremely congested, the last mile or the arteries have no capacity to take additional load. This is only going to put the people on the mercy of OLA/Uber or even more importantly Autos.

Last and which looks less likely (from AAP Govt), is it a ploy to help the sagging automobile industry, to force the people to but additional cars ? more

Car has stopped being a status symbol. In fact the latest status symbol is not owning a car. Travelling in public transport has become cool. Punctuality for face to face meeting is not a great virtue any more. But punctuality must for online meeting and teleconferencing. In worst case take uber or ola. Private car adds no value more
Polution control has to be strict in each and every town. more
Is it only the targeted vehicles to blame for pollution? In my view the no. Of vehicle on road causing pollution are the overloaded vehicles supplying material, goods from whole sale market to retailers. Most of these vehicles are old in need of maintenance and are usually overloaded. Frequency of these vehicles has increased many times more after the failure of whole seller from whole sale market to all corners of Delhi and NCR. Vehicle being used for by individuals and for conveyance only are mostly new vehicles well under control of pollution. Commercial vehicle whether heavy or light are the mail culprits and RTO staff will not catch them because they have got their vehicles passed after paying good amount under the table. more
