Some States mandating Hotels to collect xerox Copy of Aadhar Card while allotting Room . These such cannot secure confidentiality of Aadhar. Thus, punishment as well as the means are only by the Ruling Governments. SUCH LOOPHOLES NEED TO BE ARRESTED . more

I endorse your views. Earlier they were seeking a PAN. Now it is Aadhar.
PAN is much safer than Aadhar because it has no Biometrics. Secondly, the number of PAN are much lower than Aadhar. Third, PAN does not divulge address. Hotels should accept PAN instead of Aadhar.
Payment is made by credit/debit card is the easiest mode of verification. In this case both the PAN and Aadhar are available with the bank and identity is established. Bankers boast of security of the cards. Why not put it to proper use? The culprit will at least leave a trail of the money of not the money. more

oops is that 3 blissful yrs btw.....for the 'asker of info' or for the 'giver of info' or for 'both' btw!! in any case with all the trash happening outdoors seems like a peaceful heaven!! aadhaar is asked to be scribbled almost anywhere and everywhere....and then that's apart from the server leakages, crashing, records spilling, stealing, duplication etc. more

Whether the culprit is in jail or not, your identity is already compromised. Jail is not an alternative to your confidential information being disclosed in public. Is 3 years jail a deterrent? The leakage is more damaging than a jail to the culprit. The consequences of leakage are more severe that a 3 year jail term. A case of defamation is made out in the courts. The extent of damage is by way of crores of rupees. But this leaves a permanent scar on the person and a niggling doubt in the mind of people enmasse even after the verdict which confirms the defamation. Would it not be better to protect the identity than to jail the culprit? more

Prevention is always better before damage is done. Jailing culprit is no remedy remedy. more
