Donate Blood

I would like to donate blood voluntarily. Which is best place to donate blood. I mean which hospital card works in almost all hospitals?
Last time i donated blood in Lions Club but when my friend need blood with my card,they ask for 500rs,i feel like there is no use for donating blood because they are selling it. So which is best place to donate blood. My blood group is O negative. more

Is lions and rotary are also blood selling business? If they are charging for tests or storage expenses, why don't they include it as a part of their donation campaign to avoid such allegations? more
