Donation calls

Of late, I have been getting calls from unknown orphanages, old age homes, asking for donation. The number of such calls increases near birthdays, anniversaries etc. When asked how they knew it was my birthday, the response was that I had donated earlier to their organization, which is a blatant lie. When you refute this, they say got the number from other such organizations. Block one number, they will call from another number, the same lady voice in all the numbers. You ask them to send the details in by email, which they never do. Basically, these are fraudulent organizations.
Some phones and telecom operators have the provision which highlights such numbers ss spam. Would be good, if the telecom operators highlight such numbers as spam or blocked by 'x' number of users. more

This is true as the same person came to collect the money twice to my residence when I had agreed to contribute to 2 differenct organisations . Then I realised that this is a scam organised by the same group of people in different names . Ever since I stopped giving any contributions when requests come on the phone or even when people visit your homes . There are plenty of options to do service other than contributing to such fake agencies. more
It is very true. These at least we are able to Block. Some Sales Promotion calls we are not able to block. We have to frown and bear it. more
Simple, Block all these Numbers. more
I have also faced the same problem. Once one such NGO(!), went on pestering me for donation to save the life of a young boy, awaiting cardiac surgery. All arrangements had been made - but, only for the want of money (from me only !) the operation could not start. I was being pestered to remit a sum of Rs. 50,000/- (during 2014 or so). more
I made a mistake of giving thousands to one orphan for meeting the emergency treatment to burn patients. For two years, this went on and then I stopped it. But now I also get lots of call from many such organisations. more
