Various types of food preparations in India are time tested and healthy. Off late lot of scare is being created about Indian food habits presumably by vested interested for obvious reasons. So let us stick to our established time tested food habits ad enjoy good health. more
I always felt that when we can call a burger unhealthy, a pizza too then why not say in the same breath about fried in used oil samosas or pakodas or bajjis and so many of the oily Indian fried foods.. more
The post is clearly about 'burnt' toasts or chapaatis, which are never part of time-honoured, Indian diet or practices. more
The warning comes from the United Kingdom's Food Standards Agency, which launched a campaign that aimed at reducing the amount of acrylamide that people eat. .Acrylamide poses health risk. Acrylamide is a chemical that can be formed in starchy food when they're cooked at very high temperatures — for example, when frying potatoes or making toast, said Marji McCullough, strategic director of nutritional epidemiology at the American Cancer Society (ACS). Since acrylamide was first found in certain foods in 2002, dozens of studies have looked at whether people who eat more of these foods might be at higher risk for certain cancers. Toasting bread to a light-brown color, rather than dark brown or black, also reduces acrylamide exposure, as more acrylamide is found in the darker areas of the toast, according to the ACS. World wide studios and research is going on highly over cooked food which increase risk of conversion of Acrylamide in food. even French Fries have bad effect as per latest studies. I therefore strongly feel that Indian typical food is considered the best for a good health. these preparations are time tested for centuries. All these fast food now available in market is really JUNK V.C.Agrawal more
