Dont reuse cooking oil

Indians love to reuse cooking oil to save money. My aunts in India do this ALL this time. They'll make a fried dish and then reuse the oil for cooking.

This is a horrible practice. It might save money in the short run, but will cost a lot more in hospital bills later on in life.

When we heat oil, it oxidizes and produces free radicals. Reusing oil multiple times increases the number of free radicals and makes the oil more toxic.

Moreover, when we reuse cooking oil for deep frying, food particles left over from the prior use break down further with each subsequent use. This produces acrylamide, which is a carcinogenic compound.

On top of all that, reused oils also produces other harmful compounds like polar compounds and trans fats. Trans fats form when unsaturated fats are exposed to high heat during deep frying. more

One may re-use the oil for cooking but not for frying as repeat usage in frying causes polymerization of the oil and damages the body. Used oil is to be put in a container and disposed through a vendor licensed for this by FSSAI. Ask a good restaurant and they will connect you to such a vendor. more
Incase reuse of oil is harmful,? can some one suggest disposal of ones used oil. All the same oil is reused adding fresh oil, in every house holds, hotels, street food joints. Deep fried chips are made using reuse and fresh oil mix. Have any one ever tried how much black carbon is emitted by burning any deeply fried chips?/ wafers? I tried and found emition of thick black smooke, said to be toxic carbon when deeply fried wafers are made with reused oil. Let me share my experience with you all, can any one comment, whether oil is free from petroleum products mix. Ths is the reason many house holds make oil by churning at their houses. more
Some dieticians says such oil can be used safely within 24 hrs. Any expert opinion please ? more
