Most of them check your list of contacts and the density of the conversations to avoid fraud users
Basically they are reading your communications.
Also if you have confidential banking details stored in contact list, they take access of that as well.
And theoretically a fraud can be constructef by fintech, who so ever hacks them or even one of their employees more

The person in need of the app ( for loan etc) does not have freedom to say yes / no, as no means immediate refusal to use the app, so by default it is made to click agree.. and within seconds all phone contact list copied to them. Later when any issues comes up with the loan they analyse the list and start calling the closest person day and night insulting way, intimidating way. Authority must forbid these players to make it optional and not compulsory but looks like somebody has choice. more
