DORMITORY ACCOMMODATION FOR WOMEN ALSO IN RAILWAY JUNCTION SPRUCED UP :

This is good with the trend to treat all genders equaly as there are increasing women who have to travel individually for various reasons . Particularly Sports competitions , Competitive exams , interviews and so on . So far they had to take a Room which worked our costly .

THIS IS A GOOD MOVE NOT ONLY TO TO BENEFIT THE TRAVELING CUSTOMERS BUT ALSO TAP FROM ANOTHER SEGMENT FOR REVENUE FOR THE IRCTC AND MAKE IT A GOOD PROFIT ORIENTED COMPANY . THE SAME CAN BE USED FOR THE TOURS FLOATED BY THE IRCTC .

The reception counter /Lobby is at the middle and there are 2 wings one on the left where different types of rooms are there. Well furnished and spacious and Clean now .

On the right is Dormitories and again different type of rooms to suit the Customers . Very thoughtful of having provided Dorm accommodation for women also . This is another welcome feature .

The staff are curteous and helpful no doubt . They should extend the same Quality of Courtesy when the business flourishes also .

Local Circles kindly pass on this observation of mine to the IRCTC or the ones in charge of doing the changes / Modernisations :

They have allowed Passenger Customers to check in the Man Dormitories now itself . Look at the atached picture that describes the passage that leads to the Dorms at the end .

I am not commenting on the debri . But look at the electric wires crossing the passage .

Will there can be a way to directly advise the IRCTC / CONTRACTOR to ,

* Clear the Debri on a Day to day basis ,
* be careful about wires crossing the passage / pathway so that the VALUED CUSTOMERS dont get into untoward accidents .

IT IS ALWAYS WISER TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS AND THAN WAIT FOR ONE THEN RUN ON A WARFOOTING .

We all love Railways and we want the railways to go in the right Directions. more

Once I tried to book a retiring room at Palakkad Jn.But unfortunately I had booked the ticket to Palakkad Town.On the net you can book retiring room only in the starting station or in the destination station.Since my ticket was for Palakkad Town ,and no retiring room facility available at Palakkad Town,I was not able to book the retiring room.I had sent email request to the divisional authorities quoting the pnr number etc .no response was received from them .Atleast they should have sent some reply. more
Tried to book a retiring room or dormitory just 1 hour after the ticket was booked 4 months before journey of my wife/daughter in CST Mumbai (since PNR is required to book). It shows "All are booked- Not available" . What is the use of such facility which you get as a lottery only? more
very good, suggestion is welcome more
A good initiative by IR hope to see more and more accommodation and initiatives like these in near future across all railway stations in India. more
Your suggestion is a welcome one, but at the same time, persons with valid ticket to travel or already completed the journey be allowed accommodation in the dormitory or waiting halls. At present, the prevailing practice is - once your journey is over, you are not allowed to use the dormitory or the waiting hall. Let there be a change, if there is vacancy. more
