Both under ground and open drains get choked with solid wastes as these are not cleaned on regular basis. Again when cleaned the solid wastes are left on the sides and major part go back to the drain again making the efforts of cleaning fruitless. The drains are to be cleaned properly and the wastes are to be removed simultaneously. Effluent plants are to be set in each area and the solid wastes recovered from those are to be utilized in different ways. Technology in this regard can be obtained from different nations where the utilizations are done very effectively. more
What i think is that, drainage system both (toliet & kitchen waste) should be properly disposed. This work must be carried out during summer season (Mar-July) and should be finished before winter season begin. Govt must take care of this project with utmost care of public sense. The human health is fully dependent on drainage system. Improper drainage and water stagnation leads to many viral dieases. The last point is that, ground level employees who work of public work department (PWD) must be given higher wages based on the work they do. on daily basis. Normally they are the one who will help the area to be clean and tidy. For Eg. If we take chennai, drainge is worst and we suffer a lot during rainy season. All waste will mix with water and it gives bad odour, which causes mosquito breeding. Finally I suggest for the following: - Identify the area which are highly affected with drainage system. - Put an agreement and form a committee including one representative for 1 street / colony in the respective area. - Have clean plan and try to implement drainage system slowly one by one. - The representative is responsible for all sort of public meetings & co-ordination. Ofcourse govt staff will lead on these activities. - Collect pros & cons from the public. Ensure with public that govt is consistently working with cleaniness program. - Conduct frequent meetings, and show the progress to the public. * Last but not the least, it's only my personal views/opinion. Not sure how far will it work. If good thing happens, all will feel happy. more
