DRY FRUITS - General Information.
As we all know that due to Corona markets remained shuttered down for more than three months. The new crop for Almonds/Walnuts/Pistachios etc start introducing in the market around 15th Sept but this year the wholesalers as well as retailers both are pushing their old stored stocks which not only doesn't smell good but also can be full of rancidity.
The prices are kept as per the age of the product, older the age lesser the price. With the age, Almonds & Walnuts start getting darker & darker in color, they start becoming more brownish. So while buying both the items, taste it first & also see that it should be lighter in color.
Cashews become pale with the age so whiter the color fresher it is. The price of Cashews are based on its size. There are qualities like W440, W320, W240 etc. W440 means 440 pcs in a kg. & similarly W240 means 240 Pcs in a kg. So smaller the number bigger the size. Also to bring down the price of Cashew Nuts & Walnuts the sellers put almost 30% broken. So don't get attracted with the price, check the quality & broken %age.
