Dual MRP persists

Our legal metrology continues to fail miserably in implementing dual MRP.

If you buy the attached bottle of amul cold coffee in the store or online it is 25 rupees and if you buy it from an airline its 150 rupees. See proof.

Yes six times or 500% more. And if you cant treat this as a complaint and act, you should go home.

Isnt this a tight slap on the face of legal metrology people? I am sure despite the slap they still wont wake up.

Left the consumers to fend for themselves. more

Yes, this matter has also been dealt with by the Supreme Court and their direction that Malls and Cinema Halls etc can sell at higher price. more
Dear Learned Readers.....Anything sold at the Indian Airports are sold at much higher price. Many reasons are stated above. Other reason is Airport Operators (AO). AO charges huge amount of rent and others charges like electricity & water charges, Advance Rent for one year, etc. more
THERE WS A CAESE BY WEIGHTS & MEASURES IN THE SUPREME COUR A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. THE JUDGE SAID THAT IT IS ALLOWED, AS THE PRICE DIFFERENCE IS FOR THE COMFORTS, SERVICE AND AND AMBIENCE . That has already put the matter to rest. more
In airport outlets every eatable item costs atleast five times higher than their actual cost outside. If you go for a cup of tea or coffee of 50 or 100 ml you will have to shell out any amount from Rs.100 to Rs.200 or even more. Similar pricing is done at multiplexes but people immediately after reaching these places become hungry and thirsty and prices for them is not an issue. Therefore, there is no point in blaming these entities or any one else. more
I agree with everyone who has commented. Subway charges Rs.60/- for a can of pepsi when it is sold outside for Rs.30/= When the courts have given a judgement that restaurants can charge a higher price what can the common man do? Well the common man should now resort to the Gandhian principle of sacrifice and not buy these things at the airports or such outlets. When they suffer they will automatically reduce the price. I have taken such a oath to myself and will not buy such products! more
Eat, drink before entering the airports and carry your own water when you want to fly. May be a 200gms of peanut in your trouser pocket will help. more
Yes, equip yourself with water etc when you go to such outlets. more
