Sheela, I got 2 of these duplicate Cards for my 2 cars in the family recently as I had somehow misplaced them too and only had Photocopies in the Cars .. - You will have to generate a NCR from the Delhi Police Website for the misplaced Card with your Car Registration No. - Then you will have to find out which RTO your Car is registered with from the Internet .. DL-xy or DL-1C wherein the Digit 'x' will tell the Address of the RTO. - Then you carry a couple of Photos, Address Proof and Name Proof like Passport or Driving License or Aadhar Card or Voter ID etc. with Photocopies, the NCR Printout and Copy of Old Registration Card and go to this RTO. They'll give you the Form to apply. - On the Date they inform you which is nearly a Month later, you again go to the same RTO to collect the new Duplicate Card against another Proof of your Identity. Or else, go to the RTO nearest to your Home or Office and get one of the Agents sitting outside to do the needful at a cost !! I was lucky as some colleagues who live near the 2 RTOs helped !! For Issue of Duplicate Registration Certificate: Any registered owner can apply for a duplicate registration certificate in case the original one is either lost or mutilated after submitting following documents: Application on Form 26 (in duplicate and one copy duly attested along with the endorsement from the financier of Hypothecated). Original copy of the F.I.R/N.C.R. Attested copy of valid insurance policy. Attested copy of pollution under control certificate. Attested copy of address proof. Prescribed fee. Challan clearance from traffic police and Enforcement wing in commercial vehicles. Tax clearance for commercial vehicles. Attested copy of PAN Card or Form 60 and 61(as applicable) Note: Attested copy: means photo copy attested by MLA/ Nigam Parshad/ Gazetted officer/ notary public.
