Eating Fish Twice a Week Lowers Cancer Risk: Study
Eating plenty of fatty fish can help prevent the most common types of cancer, a new study review finds.
Researchers know that daily aspirin helps prevent adenocarcinomas by modestly decreasing the activity of a type of enzyme (cyclooxygenase-2 or cox-2), which leads to the development and growth of these tumors. Most cancers arising in the breast, prostate, pancreas, colon, and the rest of the gastrointestinal tracts are adenocarcinomas.
But aspirin also increases bleeding risk so the researchers wanted to find out whether eating fish high in omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon, mackerel, herring and lake trout, had the same benefits.
The researchers found this indeed to be the case. They cited one study, for instance, which found that people who ate fish at least twice weekly as compared to those who ate fish less than once a week were at a at significantly lower risk for many types of cancer. But in order to get the benefit, the fish could not be salted or fried, they stressed.
The researchers also found a similar benefit in people who took fish oil supplements, according to the review, which appears in Nutrition and Cancer, an International Journal. more

But I tell you that all the Fish Markets I have been to in India, the best Market to give you the Best Sea Fish is the Chitranjan Park No1 Fish Market in New Delhi near Kalakaji and next to Greater Kailash. I have been there you can get Fresh Sea fish which you exactly want. more

Yes,in Delhi fish caught. in Hindon river may have. Mercury. Buy fish from well known shops only .in Punjab there are fish farms that fish is good to eat. Reared under controlled conditions.and it is sold in shops and not on pavements. National Federation of fisheries Gujerat Fisheries have out let's in Hauz khas market,safe to eat.similarly outlets in other parts of Delhi are selling. Good fish. Fish imported from Vietnam should not be bought. . Is there any caution regarding fish, as it can get contaminated in contaminated ponds and rivers and seas (like nuclear contamination near nuclear plants etc.). Indiscriminate eating of fish without precaution (of finding out source of fish) may be counterproductive. Could experts throw some light on this aspect also. more
