eCommerce food shelf life

So the fssai has issued something stating shelf life of imported food products should not be less than 60 per cent or three months, whichever is minimum under what they call Food Safety and Standards (Import) First Amendment Regulations, 2018 and according to report custom authorities shall not clear any article of food unless it meets criteria.

Question is what is the standard for ecommerce sites. Is the same standard going to apply or they have a different standard??

We are ordering food and sometimes imported food and many times it does not meet above criteria.

Advise please? more

The defective product (including unacceptable balance shelf life on the date of receipt by the consumer) clause with "NO COST to the Consumer- including repackaging and transport and handling" shall be embedded in the sales invoice as a mandatory requirement. more
Less self life food must be returned to e-commerce site and must be accepted by seller without any question asked. more
The FSSAI probably means that If the declared shelf life of the product is say, 6 months from date of manufacture, at the time of offering the product for sale, it should have a minimum of 3.6 months shelf life left. The minimum acceptable shelf life expected is not less than 3 months. more
Let us go by FSSAI directives and in case any deficiencies are noticed, then changes will be effected. more
