Ecommerce packaging issues -dont order gifts on ecommercr

I want to let everyone know that ecommerce companies like amazon flipkart are now using poly bags for many items instead of boxes and this is leading to customers like me receiving many products in outer packaging damaged.

Cardboard is recyclable and poly packaging is not so why do this amazon flipkart.

One can just not trust you for gifts ordering. more

In the last couple of years when E-commerce companies were delivering the packages in card board boxes, there were lot of complaints regarding items being stolen and replaced with stones / soaps / damaged goods / simply empty boxes. This was happening because it is very easy to open a cardboard box and replace the sealant material mostly BOPP tapes. To stop these thefts the eCommerce companies started packing the cardboard boxes inside completely sealed plastic packets with tamper indication markings. These packages if opened then they cannot be sealed again even if some sort of sealing attempt is made it can be easily identified by the customer and he can refuse to accept the delivery. Today everybody understand the plastic pollution problem and want to reduce the plastic usage, but unfortunately as of now there is no alternative which can replace plastic in certain packaging's / industries. for ex - dairy products (milk, curd, butter milk, paneer etc.), drinking water, soft drinks and juices, jams, pickles, salt etc. and the list goes on. It would be better if members can suggest some viable alternatives. more

I don't have much experience of E-commerce sites but If what Ms. Jain says is correct , which it should be normally, Every one must think twice while ordering fragile gifts. One peculiar thing I had noticed with these delivery methods is that none is willing to give open delivery. This is my personal experience with `Naptol'. more
