E-commerce sites in India - Issues

1. Product description on the retailer website is not detailed and accurate
2. The product pictures on the site sometime do not give the true description of the product
3. Inferior quality goods are supplied
4. Delivery dates are not honoured
5. The after sales service from some of the websites is bad
6. Replacement on the products delivered for damage or non -working is also very cumbersome and may never happen
7. A complete complaint redressal system is missing on most of the ecommerce sites
8. The deals offered on website many times mislead the customers
9. Products are not delivered on time
10. Refunds take a long time
11. Many electronic products do not carry any warranty
12. Fly-by-night operators have also been prevalent in the market
13. E-commerce sites show one rate in print ads, but going to the websites show another rate
14. Some products are sold using fake company IDs
15. No service centres to meet face to face more

1. Most of the e-commerce sites have removed their customer care phone number from their site and placed a customer support system which runs on email. This has led to customer suffering by increasing the time to solve the problem. 2. Delivery system needs strict regulations- many times the delivery agents do not deliver at door step instead ask the customers to their office for collecting the item. more  
Because of making more profits, e-commerce products are not of adequate quality . Sellers through e-commerce sites are not bothered for customers once they receive payment.Most of the e-commerce sites to make money by attracting the public through wide publicity or adds G.K.Naidu, Hyderabad more  
1.There is NO REGULATION by Govt on the working/ redressal/grievances/complaints/fraud/mis-representation/service of these sites. 2. Most of the sites, there is NO RESPONSE or a vague RESPONSE to the grievances/complaints. 3. The Govt should ensure that the Payments made to these sites go into an ESCROW account, so that after a certain period , if NO COMPLAINT is received , then ONLY the specific amount be handed over to the Site. more
