ecommerce sites selling food

I want to know what is the rules for ecommerce sites/apps selling food.

1) Packaged items listed on ecommerce - what is mandatory shelf life requirement
2) Food sold by swiggy zomato other apps- is there a shelf life requirement.

What if one of them ship me old stale food? How does the law discourage/penalise them? more

Even Famous outlets like Amar Juice Centre in Lokhandwala Complex Andheri (West) has delivered stale Pav Bhaji. On questioning they claim it is fresh. In such cases whom to report.Probably bad publicity like this medium can affect their business. more
As suspected all lacoonas created to are for the benefits of the ones breaking the law. more
There should be certain guidelines for ecommerce sites for supply of food items and in case they fail to comply, they should be banned from supplying food items more
As for as packaged food items ,particularly sold by online apps, i think FSSAI is clueless. Day by day we can see new tie-ups and viral videos, leave alone expiry period and shelf life.Even the food handling is beyond hygiene and the dubbawalas in Mumbai are far better in service. Most time we can be assured of hot and fresh home made meals, free from harmful ingredients ( added to increase shelf life) more
Besides what has been suggested by other participants, I am also not for eating packaged food. Buy fresh food. In the tropical countries like India, eatables become stale very fast in summer and rainy season. Also, if the food on the shelf of the etailers and retailers is stored in damp and unclean spaces, one does not know the degree of spoil. more
