Economic Survey of Govt brings out what LC surveys have been saying

Today's Economic Survey has spoken some very harsh truths. I'm not only talking about stock market speculation.

It says 50% of Indian graduates are not employable

65% of people under the age of 35 have no skills

It also says social media and unhealthy food are ruining the youth

"Social media, screen time, sedentary habits, and unhealthy food are a lethal mix that can undermine public health and productivity and diminish India’s economic potential. The private sector’s contribution to this toxic mix of habits is substantial, and that is myopic

The Govt just reiterating all that our circle surveys have been reporting. Glad they are not hiding. Awareness is first step to change more

To say that 50% of graduates are not employable is not entirely right. Probably they have chosen subjects not to their liking (peer, social, parental pressure),they want to get into specific type of jobs only, they can afford not to be employed etc. Yes, there are some who are talented, but don't have the right guidance. And the bias of some employers that they want the perfect match. 65% of people have no skills. Dumb statement. Everybody has skills, either through education or self kearning or obervation etc. This skill needs to be honed and tapped. Carrying a load on the head needs a skill. And every skill needs appropriate recognition and compensation and not only those sitting in hi fi offices in ac rooms. We have very few passionate teachers - the requirement of degree like BEd (which has no practical value) and the low compensation and perks associated with teaching jobs. more
Whats app Universities have never revealed these aspects, they only promote sycophancy. Social Media is making most of our lives and spoiling the young generations and depriving of their productivity and brainly skills. Great, Government has waked up now and accepted the reality in the Country. Hope for Positive corrective steps will follow. Jai Hind. more
If there is something called as Moral Survey, then I am sure that it shall raise serious questions on whether our Country has the capability to become a developed nation by 2047. Lack of discipline, Corruption, Lopsided moral values among people, Decay in some of the Government Institutions, bigotry, Selfishness, exploitation in workplace, Corporate disregard for human values, Public Enterprises bad attitudes, misplaced anger in youth, violent disposition of communities, lack of justice, famine of quality politicians, inherited border disputes and opportunistic neighbours, inflammable social fabric and above all, the lack of Institutions to address these social ills are only poignant impediments. more
We have a saying 'Yadha Raja Tadha praja'. It applies very well in democracy also. Everything depends on the top man. Recent 5year rule in Ap is an example. It shows how a destructive person can spoil a state. Such people should never be supported. more
In Colleges, they teach you how to pass the exams and do not emphasis on skill development which will be required when you joined a company. Many companies also does not part adequate training for skill. The candidate keep on doing trial and error to develop his/her skill - rightly or wrongly. more
All kinds of labor laws need modification to promote efficiency and punish inefficiency including dismissal. more
