Electricity billing problem in Haryana
1. As soon as you receive wrong bill raise a complaint in writing to SDO of the area instead of visiting to the office. The DISCOMs are required to correct the same withing stipulated period.
2. In case you do not get correction in the bills within stipulated time and the due date is approaching, please still do not visit the office. Instead pay the bill by due date of payment. Don't worry it shall be adjusted in the subsequent bills.
3. If the same irregularity is carried out in the subsequent bill also, please repeat the steps at 1,and 2 above.
4. If it gets repeated again, please take up complaint with Divisional Engineer and after few days submit your complaint to CGRF. Hopefully the complaint should get resolve here else you will have another channel of Electricity Ombudsman. Please do not forget to claim the compensation while making complaint at CGRF and Electricity Ombudsman. Even if the complaint is redressed at CGRF without award of the compensation, please do not accept the redressal, You have the channel to claim the compensation from Electricity Ombudsman. There is a under lining that you need to discharge your responsibility whatever is required. But do not pay even a single paisa to any of the staff member instead you can claim money from the company. It may be difficult first time but above process would make you free from future problems.
For those who may disagree on this I have taken a compensation including expenses incurred in going to Chandigarh when I faced similar problem. It took three months without even a single visit to their office. Now absolutely thereafter no problem being faced with the DISCOM.
