The most important information to be displayed is the trains reaching in next two to four hours with platform no. and halt time.
The location of bogies is helpful in location passengers at the right place before the train arrives.
The mail problem comes after the displays have been put in maintaining them in working order. So it should be a total contract with some agency to put and maintain them.
The frequent change of platform is also a nuisance at some stations like Ludhiana which creates a commotion at platforms.
Even important trains like Shatabdi are kept waiting at the outskirts waiting for clearance for coming at the platforms. This is a regular affair at Ludhiana station whenever we have traveled. more

In utmost all stations electronic displays for arriving n departing trains are provided.Only lacuna is d concerned Station authority has to ensure system implemented to be accurate.Sometimes d late trains running evenif has to Gault for 5 minutes but move within 2 minutes.Obviously sleeper class n general coach passengers face problems to stairup for occupancy of seat with luggage. This is main cause to accidents n incidence of accidents n sometimes pulling chains. I hv often observed this for train no.11402 Nandigram express moving from Nagpur to Mumbai via Aurangabad.My experience was of Aurangabad only more

In place of repetitive announcements, it would be good to have a display on the platform with the train name, number and number of minutes to arrival as is done on the Delhi metro. It would be useful to have a display inside the wagons announcing the next station and the time it will arrive there. The announcements on loud speakers are irritating more than informative. more
