Employees Pension Scheme

I just applied for Pension under EPS1995 and it is under process with EPF office. My last contribution to pension fund was at 1250 per month. (8.33% of pensionable salary of Rs 15000). I understand that eligible pension will be Pensionable Salary x Number of years of service / 70. However EPFO is still considering pensionable Salary as Rs 6500 though this was later amended to Rs 15000. Has any one got pension approved considering pensionable salary as Rs 15000 ? more

Sir, by any chance if you know DCV Shrinivas who pasand out from KITS Warangall in 1990 Mechanical, please share his contact details. Duvvuri Chitti Venkat Shrinivas he was my room mate. Rajeev Ranjan more
I don't know. more
As per EPFO circular dt 22/08/2014 which amended the minimum pension to Rs 1000, Pensionable salary was also amended as the average of last 60 months salary. So you will get average last 60 months salary X pensionable years ( no of years you contributed to EPF) / 70. EPFO uses an XL sheet to calculate & no chances of making a mistake unless these figs are input in correctly. Unfortunately EPFO is the most non transparent organisation, they won't even intimate you how they have arrived at your pension or accumulated amount. more
Raghavan, My details are as follows.

Pensionable Salary : Rs 10325 (Average for last 60 months as per PPO)
Eligible Service: 17 years.

As per above, Pension Payable : (10325 x 17 / 70) : Rs 2507.

I got the PPO recently. It shows the Pensionable salary correctly as 10325 and eligible service as 17 years. But the pension approved was Rs 1672.

I raised grievance in EPF portal and I got reply as follows.
'With reference to your query, please be informed that the Pensionable service in wage ceiling Rs 6500 prior to 31.08.2014 was 5257 days and from the subsequent month with wage ceiling 15000 was 828 days. Hence, the system has calculated your pension for Rs 1672/-.'

From the above, it is clear that they considered average salary for the whole service instead of average for last 60 months. Is there any further amendment to EPFO circular dt 22/08/2014 in this regard?

What is the escalation process if we are not satisfied with the reply for the grievance raised in EPF portal ? Kindly advise.

I think it is last 60 months average salary. more
Is it not last five years average salary now? more
You are lucky that calculations are being done, I retired in Aug 2016, still struggling to get my pension. I think revision is applicable from 1995, more
