Employees Provident Fund Act is applicable only to Industries, establishments having 20 or more employees. It is not applicable to Govt. Offices. In the case of contract employees, if the contractor or establishment engaged in manpower/outsourcing or any contract work has 20 or more employees, then the Act is applicable to the contractor. Otherwise for contract workers in Govt. Offices, the Act is not applicable. more

Whereyhe PF deducted from employee is deposited along with employers contribution ? Indurial ,private sector punloc sector EPF of regular employees is well deposited .along with employers contribution well in RPFC ,EPF0 office which work under Ministry of Labour Cenntral Government . What about contractual employees engaged in govt etc who observed 1 day strike just day before yesterday or 2 nd September 2015 .? May illustrate this querry by learned person in EPF field please for general awareness amonst all of us. . Regards more

No govt company will have less than 20 membets and as said, I was working as a contractor to a govt company and I have got EPF after I left that job. more

Then contract worked in government is deprived from Provident Fund provision ,is it so ? Is it not against natural Justice .what remidy is there to safeguard interest of contractual manpower engaged in government department ? There must any legal provision in the said matter and all workers are liable to get benefit of Provident Fund irrespective of where he is working either by principal employer Or by labour contracter,workforce contractor or service provider . Any expert in this regard must highlight this issue in best interest of manpower engaged every where on contractual basis when govt is also exerting to cover each and every sector benefitting the providend Fund provision . more
