Encroachment on roads by Police Stations

Respected Commissioner of Police,
Delhi.

Sir,

I may invite your kind attention to the well known factual condition of almost every Police Station in Delhi that lot of confiscated vehicles and other vehicles are parked/dumped on road in front of police stations. It goes without saying that such encroachment causes obstruction in smooth flow of traffic and exposes pedestrians to chances of traffic accidents.

I may be permitted to mention that if a citizen parks his/her vehicle on a road side then the said vehicle is towed away by Traffic Police and the owner is subjected to fine and harassment. Sometimes policemen are also seen driving their motorcycle against the flow of traffic without any helmet and their pillion riders are also without helmets.

I request that Delhi Police may review the facts and circumstances and make plans to project the Police Stations as role models of law keepers. Dumping of vehicles and stacking of barricades in big quantities on roads may please be removed at the earliest.

Thanking you.
Yours sincerely,
C.M. Lal Srivastava
