Energy Drinks should not be for under 18

I have seen kids aged 13-14 consuming red bull while playing foot ball and sports. This is very dangerous. Not sure if there is a rule by FSSAI but these need to be treated like alcohol with a warning on top and a rule where 15 year old cant buy it from a store.

The article below is really concerning. Research has found that energy drinks lead to heart rate and rhythm shooting up, even cardiac arrests.

The suggestion makes sense for protecting the health of children. FASsaI should ensure the enforcement. SD Kulkarni Pune On 7 Mar 2017 09:52, "Mohit Jain" wrote: > more
Lot of aerated, and unwanted drinks sprung from American culture have invaded the Indian youngster, what is banned in their country, is given to children, we have adopted their culture, and lost all that we have. Our pure coconut water is better than the drinks that are available. Support our desi drinks to children, and also food habits. more
I don't understand, why is it not practical. People should not give up on India and Govt like this. How will we improve otherwise. Why cant FSSAI evaluate this and if it is found that under 18 kids should not consume this, make it mandatory for producer to write on the can and for seller to comply. We really need to drop this looser attitude. 70 years have been like this so nothing will change in next 70. Lets all determine to move from pessimism to optimism. The fact that we are having this conversation sitting in different parts of india with the govt itself is a huge positive. Lets throw the colored lens please. more
With regards to all the comments & suggestions let us educate ourselves about the demerits / dangers of all kinds of eatables & drinkable under discussion. Widest possible publicity will lead to awareness to reduced demand to improved product quality. The government can at best be forced to be transparent in publicizing the methodology of providing certification / license to the manufacturer. The general public ( consumer ) through social media has to all the critical reviews & dissenting acts. more
WHAT ARE THE DUTIES OF PARENTS. HAVE WE PARENTS TO DEPEND ON GOVT AND POLICE FOR ALL ACTIVITIES. WHAT THE PARENTS SHOULD DO THEN IT IS FOR THE PARENTS TO MONITOR AND ENSURE THAT THE CHILDREN DO NOT DRINK RED BULL DRINKS. M.DAS more
