Enforcing Chewable Tobacco Ban - Inputs Needed

We would like to seek your inputs on how the Delhi Government can implement the Tobacco Ban more effectively.

Food Adulteration department and Delhi Police are planning special drives to catch the offenders. Committees are being planned at constituency level and RWAs will be included.

If you have additional ideas on other things that can be done, please share.

I beg to differ with Balachandran ji. Ever since we are born we are listening that one should not drink as it has negative effects. We are also writing on packet that cigrate smoking is injurious for health still people are smoking. My question as to why the social evils are persisting even after more than 60 years of persuasive approach . In chewing tobacco the person concern only harms himself and is not making any nue-sense how do we expect public support for his giving up habit of consuming tobacco. Use of plastic bags are ban by the Hon'ble Courts , whether these are stopped by the public I say no; the reason is the alternative to plastic bags are not found so useful. Therefore I maintain my ealier on the issue . more
I do not believe any effort should be directed towards developing an alternative to chewing tobacco. All endeavours should be purposefully directed to create public opinion among all age groups, particularly children and youth upto the age of 18-20 to give up/ avoid. This requires patience, diligence, sustained publicity and awareness campaigns, spread over years, and made part of all instruction, moral, ethical or specific at the school level. Pubic opinion has to be created, cultivated, nurtured, and sustained. In short, this is akin to parental care - we call ourselves a nation of culture, and often tomtom our value system. We should ingrain avoidance of tobacco into our value system!! more
Definately survey and case study will give data based information . more
Let us first aware its consumers and present case studies of patients to the large audience more
