Engaging all Local Government Bodies into Swachh Bharat
Yesterday, the Minister of Urban Development, Venkaiah Naidu met with the Swachh Bharat team including all leaders of Government of Delhi.
The minister is very keen that Swachh Bharat movement be made a Jan Andolan by engaging every citizen of India, Central and State Governments engaging with citizens and making decisions based on Citizen inputs. The Garbage Management whitepaper inputs on Issues highlighted by you was personally read by him to the meeting attendees. Copies of the whitepaper will be sent to them soon.
All Government officials of Delhi (Municipal Corporations, Delhi Development Authority, Delhi Police, Delhi Metro) have been encouraged to join the Swachh Bharat circle and local constituency Swachh Bharat circles as well.
27 local Swachh Bharat constituency circles are now available for Delhi & NCR (11), Mumbai (8), Bangalore (3), Hyderabad (2), Chennai (3)
As local circles become available for constituencies, the Ministry will be sending letters to associated Municipal Corporations asking them to join the respective Swachh Bharat local circle in their area and the National Circle.
