ENHANCE OCCUPANCY IN RESERVED RAILWAY COACHES

AS WELL AS IMPROVE REVENUE :

NO SOLUTION WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IF THE MONOPOLY ORGANIZATION MAKES DECISIONS WITH BIASED GOAL , THAT IS THEIR OWN PROFIT . PROFIT IS A MUST IN ANY ENTERPRISE , BUT PROFITEERING ALONG WITH INEFFICIENCY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND THAT WILL BE IDENTIFIED BY THE CUSTOMER SOONER THESE DAYS.

There are some suggestions that should be Rationale as well as appealing to the Railways that makes
8,107,000,000 passenger trips annually .
Railways should realize that it is this volume of travelers 8 Billion annually or the 2,20,00,000 [ 2.2 Million million] Passengers /day , who keep the Railways running despite several failures like accidents, Punctuality increasing cost for rail travel, unhygeinic practices . It is because the people repose faith again and again on the National carrier. Present day Railmen don’t deserve any credit as it is the name created by the earlier dedicated Railmen. So the Railways should take their ardent customers along with them when they take any hasty decisions particularly when in distress/ duress . No one makes right decisions during distress .

No doubt there is crowd during festivals and students’ holidays. Railways themselves have classified peak season and lean season and accordingly have duel fares without a big gap between the 2 fares. No one has opposed so far.
The next is, week end , weekday occupancy : Instead of increasing for profit or breakeven, one solid change in charge will make the railways walk the right path towards this wasteful operation of running half empty trains.

* Look out what is the occupancy that concerns the railways 50, 60, 70 % . Accordingly reduce the fare of tickets [be careful not to reduce too much to belittle Railway travel or too little to look insignificant .] This reduction should be corresponding to the occupancy , lees occupancy more reduction .

* Of course increase the efficiency of the staff on regular payrolls. Their pay scales have been hiked sufficiently last year to keep the aall smiling . Despite giving this hike and unable to get the objectives carried out for the sake of the public definitely reflect on the functioning of the Bosses from top to junior level. People with power and perks should use it to get the Goals achieved through the staff who were more than pleased with the pay hike.

* There are many more avenues from where Railways can make it viable and efficient . Concessions[ or called freebees by public ]could be curtailed . We are not under the British now , so we are all equal to recognize all that .
We have also heard that there are moves to reduce the services of railmen from lower grade to work in the Bungallows of V.I.P’s at railway cost. Good move . Innovate more such curtailment of wasteful expenditure from the ex checker flowing out. In other words stop V.I.P. Culture completely. No one is V.I.P. all are working for their daily bread .

* The prevailing tender system is trash . There is no objectivity to buying, placing orders. That is how the quality of stuff supplied has taken a beating . Leaky taps, all electrical fittings and toilet fittings sub standard ,in all toilets upper or ordinary class.

* I am not a technical person to pin point on other stuff ordered. But there should be skeletons there also.

ANY WAY HONOURABLE MINISTER HAS STARTED THE CLEANING UP . LET US HOPE HE WILL OVER TAKE THE DOWNSLIDE AND MARCH FORWARD.
SIR WE ARE WITH YOU THROUGH THIS CIRCLE TO GIVE YOU ALL THE SUPPORT . more

The concept of dynamic fares in railways is totally flawed as the fare for an urgent rail journey is same or more than an air fare for the same destination more
It's all soooooo complicated, and yet not at all complicated. What we need to do here is to detach ourselves from the rules stipulated by the British to suit conditions for their convenient travel on Indian trains. The quota system was for the Goras, this has now been taken over by the so-called VIPs of Indian origin. The Raj rule is over. Let our Indian compatriots not take the place of the Goras. THIS MUST STOP. In the days of Lal Bahadur Shastri as Railway Minister, his was the only Ministry showing profits in the Budget. What, but what has happened in the previous years that the same Railway Ministry has been showing negative income? Something is not right in the State of Denmark, as Shakespeare would've put it. THIS SITUATION NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. more
Unlike air fares where the maximum air fare is usually prohibitive, there must be a cap on maximum railway fare no more than two times the normal fare. As regards many berths in the trains going vacant, there must be review of the actual number of quotas and their release mechanisms. General passengers must get enough time, say one week at least, to book for vacant reserved quta seats/berths. Whatever the procedural change is finally adopted by the railways must be given enough publicity on all print and digital media, so that lack of awareness does not result in not availing the vacant seats/berths. more
The very concept of dynamic fares is incorrect and Railways have taken so much time to realize it. Now that both the Railway Board Chairman and MoR are dynamic, they are probably able to overcome the usual traditional lethargy of Railways to think logically. Still they have to make huge efforts to finally kill the traditional tendencies of Railway board in India - a long way to go. Even the tatkal mechanism is faulty. One may see all seats booked through all sorts of quotas and general booking but the actual situation in the train will be different. Good number of seats go vacant, resulting in huge revenue loss to railways. While reviewing the dynamic fares, Railways should also review the mechanism of operating tatkal and other quotas. more
Dynamic fare system will ensure that trains running with low occupancy are also available for the lay passenger at lower rates - win-win for the passenger and the Railways. We cannot expect the Railways to run purely as a charitable organisation. more
