I propose to increase the rate of tax on petrol from the present 30% to 32% and diesel from 19% to 21%, so petrol price will be increased by Rs.1.14/ltr and diesel by Rs 1.12/ltr: Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy while presenting the budget

I always feel the anger on the higher price of Petroleum products is not right. These are non renewable resources and should not be provided at discounted price. If we look at today's world the tendency is more towards using private vehicles. The higher price of petroleum products will always make people to be little conscious about the over usage of automobiles. more

Petrol prices need to be increased atleat minimumRs 150 perlitter and diesel price for SUV and cars should be at 100Rs commercial vehicles for tranporting passengers and essential should remain constant.This will help in traffic congestion , Air pollution and save in imports on forex.Prices of essentials will be constant. People should use public transport rather enjoying cars for themselves. more
