Entitlement of bureaucrats includes IPL tickets
So some of our bureaucrats are not happy with the perks that come with a Joint Secretary job, they also want free IPL tickets.

It is very good that Shri Sudesh Rai has published the letter of a high ranking executive of national administrative set up. What standard or example is before such officer’s subordinates? The reason is, to my mind, every Govt. employee – from Peon to Principle Secretary thinks he is vested with the Power of his/her majesty and people of india are subjects to be ruled upon and they are there to sub-serve their interest. This false notion must be removed and they must understand that their existence is only as long as they serve People of India. Service attitude must replace ruling directives. To attempt to bring about such change following actions are necessary: 1. All/ every designation must have a word “Sewak” in it. 2. No perks should be admissible for any level of employee. Convert current “perks” into cash and add to salary. 3. All appointments are for 5 years only. Performance and public (served by that office) opinion shall decide if the service may be extended for further 5 years. 4. Head of each office MUST fix one day in a month to meet people, receive and resolve their grievances and generally feel the pulse of people he is serving. Ministry of training and PMO's office should be conveyed about our views to think about action to be taken on all such officias including this one, RYK. more

Also, look at the time and nergy "wasted" in formulating and writing this letter. And that too on official letterhead.........for a request that is totally personal. more
