EPF Services – Key Issues Outlined by Citizens

1. The exempt organizations do not come under EPFO making it tough for the employees to maintain their PF records
2. Making modification on the UAN site is very confusing
3. The online passbook does not reflect the right entries many times
4. In some cases, the actual PF amount transfer does not happen for years
5. PF settlement money can be received only at a few select banks
6. Companies do not release the PF amount/details after the employee leaves
7. Transferring the PF amount from one company to another is a tough job

EPF interest calculation is confusing and it never matches with last years amount and the percentage declared even as simple interest and it is always less. Can EPFO keep a interest calculator in the website so that everybody can check. It is also confusing whether you add last FY interest (say FY17-18 interest in FY 18-19 calculation) from 1st April itself which should be case or on the date it is actually credited -normally 5-6 months after April? This should be clear. Can EPFO specify it in their website? more
I've been following up with my employer for change my Aadhaar number on EPFO since last 1 year which they wrongly updated but they are not replying and the issue is still unresolved, my money got stuck due to the issue. I left the job before 1 year. Would you please inform what is a process to change Aadhar number on EPFO? more
There are few more points which can be included in the list: - How to find out transfer of PF amount and EPS amount from previous employer (exempt organization) to current employer (non-exempt organization)? - Since EPFO records are computerised, consider providing services from EPFO office near to place of residence of retired employee (or EPFO office of choice of retired employee). Justification : While in service, EPFO office location may be different as it is related to employer registration location. But people may move to different location after retirement and it is very difficult to visit different EPFO offices to resolve queries, issues. more
EPFO should find out from their available information all earlier contributions made in a particular name & then verify it with that individual.Or simply ask the individual about names of the earlier companies where worked. Online queries raised to be answered within 24 to 48 hours. For all pending issues a particular EPFO officer must be assigned who will co ordinate among EPFO to resolve all the pending issues quickly. On the date of retirement due EPFO claim payment must be made. more
yes i agree to it. more
Karan, it is not compulsory to route through the ex employer. Please approach your PF office directly who will assist. more
