Equipment Missing with Municipalities - Inputs Needed

Dear all:

Based on your inputs, below is a list of equipment that is missing with most municipalities.

Kindly review and if you have additional inputs, please add to the list. Also, help us identify have to have versus nice to have.

We will prepare a comprehensive list of "Must Have" equipment and circulate to all ULBs to ensure that they furnish the missing items at the earliest.

Swachh Bharat Mission

Equipment commonly missing with most municipalities

1. Small Dumpers of the size of fork-lift for scooping debris on the road and loading to truck
2. The drainage cleaning staff does not have bamboos and iron rods
3. They should have pumps which suck sewage, grind and fill tanks
4. Washable and reusable nose mash for the employees are missing
5. Municipality has no equipment for pruning the trees
6. Hand glove, gum boots etc. to handle the waste are mostly missing
7. Mechanised brooms for the cleaning staff
8. Cleaning staff is also missing ‘litter grabbers’
9. Automated vehicles to empty the large municipal bins are missing
10. Dust protection eye-glasses
11. Light weight shovels
12. Not enough bush cutters
13. Small oxygen cylinders with oxygen pipes for people working inside the Hume pipes of drainage system
14. Vehicle with motorized ladders for emergencies and contingencies more

Items Mentioned By Mr Ravi Ranganathan should also be included in the list urgently and on priority basis. Most important thing is the Zeal which is very uncommon in municipal employees should also be provided in bulk quantity and that too periodically. They should be made to understand that As a municipal employee they are not doing only there job but serving the human kind and God as such more  
Mechanical sweepers, Road cleaning trucks, Vacuum Leaf pickers, Tree trimmers & Brush cutters are some equipments which should also be available. Use of Heavy duty gloves should be made compulsory for the Safai karmacharis as well as the Electricians to protect them. Non provision/ Non use of the provided gloves & other protective gears should be made punishable. more
