Etiquettes, Punctuality and Hygiene.

I want to ask a common man through this platform that, Do we feel our Railway network is providing us the quality which we pay for. Or does the community travelling on trains is behaving properly to keep the govt. property in tact as when it was new.????

I am a regular traveler on trains and Delhi Metro. There is a huuuuuuuuuge gap between both modes. Even uneducated and illeterate people behave like proffesionals.

Please suggest measures to over come many of the misbehavings and discomfort happening in trains n metros. more

Very relevant question asked. Same band of people behave gently when travelling in Metro but the same band is not behaving the same way in Train ride. The answer is simple, the day the train ride and its infrastructure will be the same as metro you will find your self that the same people will behave differently. more
Dear Mr. SARANJEET, now Indian Railway services, especially ticket rservation service is passing through the highest rate of corruption. Almost 80% of the seats have been alloted under different quotas, the benefits of which is going to the booking clerks in association with server controllers and the local agents. I can give you my own example. On 17.06.2017 I did FOUR transactions on Ttkal quota through my Debit Card, just at 10:00 AM. About NR. 20000/- was taken by IRCT during the four transactions but gave no tickets. After seeing few available seats in AC Class I started booking but in vain. For the time being I just lost my money and got lot of tensions. I was trying for Two Seats only. Such things are happening first time in Indian Railway Industry. Corruption is on extreme. Government is trying to show that it is honest and tranparent, is nothing but deceiving commom people. It is an immidiate need to reduce the Ttkal Quoto to 10% of the General Quota to curb the corruption in booking. In the name of Takal Quota Railway is charging more than NR 500/- per ticket is nothing but cheating people in an indirect way. more
Mr,Saranjeet ji, Your grievances I believe are genuine. we need to create awareness that govt property is our own. A sense of belonging ness need to be inculcated to under privilege by makng street show. Initiatives need to be taken both by Railways and commuters. Else time will fleet, but without any improvement. Thanks Rajesh Arora more
The railways do not provide us equally for the charges we pay. There is no security,no cleanliness and standard comfort even on high class berths.l more
How to educate the people? more
There is a limit to what the Govt./ Railways can do; what is woefully missing is the utter dearth of public spirit and civic senses among the travellers/ users. Terrible toilet manners, eating habits, loud conversations are a few obvious examples of bad sense of users; loud vending and messy dispensing by food/drink vendors is what the Govt. can take up to correct. I do agree with Mr. Thampy, if we want to get something try to do first, instead of expecting Government to do all for us. more
High time "politesses" with authority are appointed to accompany railway/metro trains or buses or trams or even aeroplanes. Age-old habits do not die willingly; these need to be curbed by bending. "Laton ke bhoot baaton se nahi mannte". Pressure of punishment is needed until following discipline/rules becomes a natural habit with Indians. START EDUCATING THEM AS CHILDREN!!!!! more
