Lithium Batteries technology for production of same is still not available so it is imported. The Vehicles technologies are also from countries like Japan, France, China & United States. The technology they used is for their climatic conditions and for the disciplined people who follow the guidelines of safety. If as stated by Bavaskar JI the battery was low and overdrawing of current resulted in the fire, then the owner of the vehicle did not properly read the manual. The Chalta hai attitude would no doubt result in many such losses on roads...besides contributing to pollution and endangering several lives. more

considering that there is no engine but the main issue is with battery which i presume is still imported and at high duties i presume and also lot of components being imported and taxed at higher levels.It would be good if some manufacturer can give at a good price with 100% local content then volumes will pick up .I am waiting for that to happen more
