Exemption of the tax liability on pension income

This is the time that the FM is busy preparing the budget for the next FY. Presently the pension income is treated on par with any other earnings through employment or business. It is not fair to treat the pension income, a passive income based on the principles of social security, on par with any other income based on certain activities like business. Further, the pension income must be considered as 'tiny deferred salary'. Further, filing a tax return at the ripe old age is a burden for the senior citizens and super senior citizens. Hence, it is requested that the pension income must be exempted from the taxable income of the pensioners. The GOI may not lose much through this act of kindness. more

Mr. Arvind Jadav I got a mail: "Arvind wrote: "Pension is always index-linked & should rise with inflation. Otherwise pensioners will not survive today''s cost of living. Pensioners should always keep fit & healthy to avoid all medical bills & other inadvertent situations in their lives. For them , there should not income-tax or to minimum. Will Arun Jaitley take care of us?." Because of som glitch in this web page I cannot see your post. How ever I agree "...should rise with inflation. Otherwise pensioners will not survive today''s cost of living...." But ser I do not agree to what you said "Pension is always index-linked....", I beg to differ sir. All pensions are definitely NOT LINKED with Index, but they DEFINTE SHOULD BE. more
The employers shall have to pay for the wages including EPF and ESI. more
There are many unorganised Bonded-labour in our Indian society & they are paid nothing at the end of their working life. How to pay their ESI & PF is very big question. There is no legal status for the bonded labour but we still employ them. Exploitation of human life....deemed slavery...in our tax-avoidance Indian Society. more
I have liked Mr. Arvind Jadav's concern towards the services rendered by house maids, drivers and gardeners. As of now these are unorganized services unlike west. The day a law is made into force we shall have to pay for their such expenses including ESI and EPF. So I request Mr. Jadav's to move a petition for this class of employees. more
I do not think that pension is not properly defined in Income-tax books.I may be wrong.what happens some private business Cos do not give pension, they give lumpsum at the end of work...that is it...where does the IT comes?. You employ house -maid/Gardner or other person (kept person), driver for years but you do not give pension to them, where is IT? Income-tax is folly created by British. Please do not follow. See Arab nations.....No Income-Tax!@!!!!!@@!!!!!!!. more
