EXISTING TRACKS , OVERHAULING HANDED OVER :

It was bad news for me and many others that Mr. Prabhu was handing over the Ministry to another before realizing his dream or leaving half way through .Any way he had laid a good foundation to what he took upon himself all alone and reposed faith on the rail users to know what we wanted and what was deficient . The process has brought out many skeletons from the cupboards of the Railways .
Overhauling is not a pleasant task to do particularly after so many issues unearthed in the railways as the stumbling Blocks for its progress .

First task should be to overhaul the Board, discard the dead wood and replace with young , honest and enthusiastic members who are dedicated to the Nation and the traveling public . Brand the corrupt ones as anti national anti people.

The zonal railway heads, the Divisional managers , senior officers , and the section officers should be pinned with responsibility and made accountable for the performance and any eventuality . Each one should realize that Railways are dealing with the Lives of Indian Citizens and cannot be Callous about a fellow citizen’s life, rich or poor, old or young, men or women .

The workers should be conscientized about their responsibility to provide clean and healthy environment in the compartments besides safe guarding their lives . The security force should protect the passengers in general and women in particular when they are traveling in trains , waiting in stations.

The contractors supplying food, snax , water and soft drinks should be told that their activities will be tracked through the App and the passengers grievances will be redressed on the spot.

The T.T.E.’s and train attendants should be warned of dire consequences for any malpractices.

IF THE NEW MINISTER ATTENDS TO THE ABOVE , WHICH HAVE EMERGED FROM THE ACTIVE , ENTHUSIASTIC , LEVEL HEADED , SELFLESS MEMBERS OF THE” MAKE RAILWAYS BETTER” CIRCLE SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT . NO NEED TO INSTALL ANY SPECIALIST TEAM TO WASTE THE RAIL MONEY AND THE PUBLIC TIME . THE MINISTRY WILL ON TRACK. Jai Hind . more

Why only tracks, everywhere rigorous periodic checking and maintenance/repairs must be ensured. On Sep 6, 2017 6:16 AM, "Jayakumar Daniel" wrote: > more
M.Ramachandran There are improvements in all areas but still lot to improve in the Railways. One of the area still does not have any change is the Coach attendant. Can the Department put a notice in every coach about the Duties and Responsibilities. As I have observed, they only supply the Bed Linen and nothing. They go to sleep and doesn't get up in between Stations even for opening the Doors. Let us give him an attendance sheet to get the Remarks of the Passenger and this should be a part of their performance Evaluation. more
- The quality of staff is abysmal and of absolutely the lowest standard. This is the first issue that needs to be addressed. - Lack of ethical and standardized work culture. - Lack of fear of law due to unions and caste politics. - The lower the grade the more they are sure that they will not be held accountable. - Infrastructure needs to be upgraded on a war footing. - Privatization of track laying and maintenance and upgrade of infrastructure should be considered. - Upgradation of skills and regular performance reviews should be introduced. - CCTV cameras should be a must use at all sites where work is being undertaken to record in real time and monitor the quality of work and the status so accidents can be avoided. - Culprits and mass murderers should be shown no mercy - irrespective of caste, designation, affiliations. Swift justice should be given. more
Exactly what the new Minister and the Board chairman should look into to

make Railways Function. more
I agree with you that overhauling is must for railways. In my opinion the look after of Railway tracks work and up keeping of coaches should be given to private sector and in case of any accidents due to tracks or derailment the responsibilty should be of the contractor only.
