I have been talking to vendors in the market and Local Circle poll is somewhat right. Transportation costs due gst and fuel costs due to petrol/diesel dynamic price are going up and there fore our costs of living is going up.
GST is for improving tax collections and reduce different tax accounts. Some are kept out side the GST for their comfort only . Some help to public may come as a byproduct if public are lucky. more
It seems Govt has given false hope that other taxes will be removed.2)Saving time in logistics will reduce cost. Now already more than 2 months have elapsed but we do not find any reduction in taxes.Even for grocerries and tioletris item which should be free from GST we have paid Rs 1000 as GST for a monthly buy of Rs 6000.Tioletries should be exempted due Swachh Bharat motto.Otherwise people will be reluctant to keep clean the premises. more
Yes, expectation from GST application to reduce cost of living is misplaced. GST has been introduced to remove the biggest hurdle of different States charging different tax modes. GST is a taxation India-vide. Please, people, appreciate this step and, if it's any consolation, most of the developed countries resort to this. Here, YOU are not important, the COUNTRY and its development is. GST is a first step to reign in non-taxpaying businesses and individuals. Success results are already there. The equation, friends, is simple: do we have any right to expect anything from the government, if we do not fulfil our fundamental duty of paying taxes to the government? Only if we all pay our taxes diligently should we expect tax relief from the government and see our country develop and prosper.........Let's try to leave a good heritage for the coming generations! more
What is GST? God Save Taxpayer that is we all. But GST was born with inbuilt defects and limitations to affect its success. The biggest villains in General Costs, Petrol and Diesel are out of the ambit of GST. Thus God has been incapacitated to Save Taxpayer. With falling crude and dollar the price of petrol and diesel keeps going up like a rocket. This week itself the price has gone up by almost 2 Rs. What is the reason for this no one need to know. To avoid the embarrassment and protests against rise in fuel costs the new gimmick of dynamic pricing has been brought in. Even if the price goes up by 0.50 Rs. per day one will not realise how much increase has taken place. Further in today's hectic life it is near impossible to remember the day to changes in fuel prices, and one is not likely to grudge an increase of some paise. The net effect is that even though the price of petrol has gone from about 65 Rs. to 71 Rs. per litre no one seems to be able to notice it and there are no protests because of the cunning way the price increase has been implemented. more
