exploitation of banks

See how the banks are exploiting the people. Today by around 2 Pm. I gave a letter to IOB branch manager requesting for a new ATM card. ( my old card is lost). At that time the bank personnel in-charge for this cards explained me clearly that due to some technical reasons, the issue of new card will be delayed for more than one month. I agreed for the same and gave my request and returned back. But to my surprise , by evening around 6 Pm I received a message from IOB saying that Rs. 100.00 is deducted from my account for the card charges. I have not received the new card and they have themselves admitted that it will take more than one month for new cards , but still they have taken my money Rs. 100.00 instantaneously. How can they do this. They can collect the money for new cards , but should do it only after delivering the card. We all should take this matter to the concerned authorities so that banks are not allowed to exploit the poor peoples money . more

Banks had made it immpossible for a customer to take its own money from his own account. I had taken my mother to hospital and at the time of payment when i submitted my debit card to payment it failed not only once but thrice. At last i have to take money from friend ande made payment. But bank so called State Bank of India deducated money from my account, the money they had not given. And when I approached my branch, they told they cant do anything contact customer service. I contacted customer service and they lodged my complaint and when i ASKED THEM WHEN I WILL GET MY MONEY, THEY TOLD 30 TO 45 DAYS. SHOCKING. FOR LATE PAYMENT OF ANY BILL, AUTHORITIES CHARGES PENALTY FOR LATE PAYMENT BEING GOVT. SECTOR, BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THIS CASE< OUR MONEY OUR ACCOUNT BUT EVEN THEN NO PAYMENT AND REFUND AFTER ONE MONTH. WILL BANK PAY FOR LATE PAYMENT more
The Collection of Charge by Bank and the Acceptance by the indentor who stated that it is lost become a cognizant proof . more
ASHOK BALARAMAN : YOU ARE RIGHT..!!.. WE NEVER CRIB ABOUT PAYMENT FOR SERVICES RENDERED....BUT, " IN ANTICIPATION OF SERVICES TO BE RENDERED " IS A LITTLE TOO MUCH...!!..I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN UP WITH THE OMBUDSMAN AND THE BANK SHOULD BE REPRIMANDED. IN FACT I FEEL, YOU CAN ASK FOR COMPENSATION FOR MENTAL AGONY ( a token amount ). ..!!.. more
Of course it is right. But in my case in corporation bank the card is issued five years back It gets the normal wear and tear and in few of the outlets it is not working and has the expiry of another 18months. For issuing a new card in lieu of this the bank informs they will charge 350Rs. Is it right. When the Govt says to use plastic money all over why this type of harassment???? more
At the time of losing ATM Card, immediately we should inform concerned to hold the transaction by giving details. They will inform the head office for new ATM card and Rs.100 is common for their administrative charge for arranging new cards. On our continuous insistence, they may get it in one week or 10 days time. more
