Extra GST over Disocunted MRP

Has anyone been charged GST over discounted MRP? For eg: If the MRP was INR 1000/- and a flat discount of 50% was offered, then on the discounted price of INR 500/-, were you charged extra GST? Was it online or offline purchase? Do you have the bill/ invoice? Any inputs will be really helpful. more

When the entire globe is frightened because of the merciless behaviour and killing sprea of the dreaded Covid19 and put their entire economy at stake to fight thereagainst, you are worried about a few rupees additional charged as GST, but who will listen to you at this time? I don't think its an appropriate time to discuss on this petty issue. more
Yes, such malpractices are there in the market. Some shopkeepers are intentionally doing this. I had experienced so and argued with the owner. I challenged him to show any document otherwise I will complain straight way by giving details of transaction, that immediately impacted and settled the GST as per rules. In such case my advice is to explain his fault politely if no response, then take the photoclip of shop keeper & shop along will bill copy send a complain to the concerned with a copy to the shop keeper. That will act nicely. more
No such issues with me. more
I was charged GST on discounted price, even though original MRP is inclusive of all taxes and duties. I complained to Vadodara GST office. They found a big fraud on national level and matter has been sent to Ahmedabad GST office for further investigation and action. I understand that Myntra has been ordered to pay Rs 2 lakh ($2,870) by the Chandigarh consumer disputes redressal forum after it charged goods and services tax as extra on a discounted clothing item. This information was uploaded by one of the LC member few months back. LC must take up with concerned statutory / government / GST authorities to stop such double charging of GST. more
I agree with Umesh Makkar and it can be taken to court under misrepresentation more
