Eye and ENT are now two separate disciplines
The above factual statement appears in 01/2014 issue of MedEl’s ExploreMagazine.
The fact applies equally well to eye-care:
Two eyes come as standard equipment. If both are out of action, daily life becomes rather complicated. Even if one eye gives out, a crucial `something’ is missing.
Long ago, when I was serving as Refractionist at the prestigious medical institution, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (in Rajinder Nagar), in the year 1962 there used to be one combined Eye & ENT Department with the attending surgeon known as Eye & ENT Specialist.
Eye and ENT are now two separate disciplines, and I currently serve as Contact Lens Practitioner at the well-known eye care institution, Ophthacare Eye Centre (in Janakpuri).
Both eyes and ears are vital sensory organs...and we need to preserve them well (by undergoing professional eye examination and avoiding loud noise surroundings)!
Picture should an economically priced ear-plug to muffle sound in noisy surroundings.
